After quitting his job in finance four years ago, Bondi based designer Andy Cameron decided to combine his love for fashion and photography and the South American way of life. Muchacho was born on a stint of living in Mexico and subsequent trips back and forth to Chile, Brazil and Argentina.
Meaning ‘young man’ in Spanish, the word ‘muchacho’ is popular slang in Mexico for your friend, or ‘mate’. Inspired by all things Latino, Andy travels back to Central and South America regularly for photographic expeditions. “I love the atmosphere there – of living in the moment. The people savour the good things and don’t rush. I try to emulate that laid back lifestyle in my designs.”
In its forth year Muchacho is stocked in selected boutiques across Australia and has begun to gain interest in NZ and Europe.
